| Audrey and Mary, two coworkers, are thinking about going out for lunch today, but they don’t know where to go to. Audrey proposed a new sushi restaurant, but Mary is not a fan of seafood. She proposed instead to go to an Italian place, but Audrey had some pastas yesterday for dinner, so she would like something different. Unsure about what to do, the two girls decide to look in the local newspaper to see if there is any deal. Luckily, there was one interesting deal. There was a restaurant offering a “two for one” lunch. Basically, if they were paying for one lunch, they would get one free. Excited by the idea, the two girls choose to go to this place. Audrey had salmon and Mary had pizza. The food was delicious! Everything was going perfectly, until it was time to pay. When they saw the bill, they thought there must be a mistake. It was more expensive than it was supposed to be. When Audrey asked the waiter about the free lunch deal, he simply replied: “there’s no such thing as free lunch”. Audrey comeu salmão e Mary comeu pizza. A comida estava deliciosa! Tudo estava indo perfeitamente, até a hora de pagar. Quando viram a conta, pensaram que devia haver um engano. Era mais caro do que deveria ser. Quando Audrey perguntou ao garçom sobre a promoção do almoço grátis, ele simplesmente respondeu: “não existe almoço grátis”. Confusos, os dois colegas pagaram o valor total da conta e saíram. |
